My Favorite Racetrack

The Indy 500 is by far my favorite race of the IndyCar season.  I love the history behind the race and the track.  My favorite part about the whole experience is seeing the passion of racing and the Indy 500 itself through the fans and the drivers.  I was told, before my first Indy 500 in 2012, that you get chills when the planes fly over during the National Anthem.  I indeed did get chills during the National Anthem along with other important moments of the race.  But being a 12 year old girl from Kansas I was so happy to see that other people were enjoying the race as much as I was.  I felt a sense of unity between the fans (excluding the drunk people in their early twenties that couldn't tell you even one driver that was racing) the drivers, the owners; between the people who just love racing.  This race will always have a special place in my heart forever because the special things it brings me...
